With the promise of a visually beautiful online experience and the unique ability of flight enticing me into its world, Aion: Tower of Eternity looked like it could be the MMORPG to bring me back into the fold after a two year absence. Unfortunately the excruciating banality of the first 25 levels meant that any promise of uniqueness was crushed under exasperation and boredom.

There was something magical about hearing the hype regarding Aion: Tower of Eternity. Its success in Asia and the distinct visual style evident in trailers and screenshots gave me the same buzz I experienced when waiting for Lord of The Rings Online (LOTRO) to release.

Aion: The Tower of Eternity is a beautiful and amazingly detailed Massively Multiplayer online Role Playing Game that shows it's possible to mix stunning visuals and strong story-based quests in a PC online game. With a celestial war raging, players will take to the skies wielding divine powers and using tactics and strategy to force an advantage for their race. As the balance of the world is at stake you must choose your side, deliver your people and enter into legend.

Battling as either the Asmodians or Elyos, Aion combines the beauty of many Eastern MMORPGs like Final Fantasy XI, with the story-based quests and quick-levelling structure of the Western online games such as World of Warcraft or Age of Conan. This blend of stunning visuals and a deep story-based design mean that Aion creates an enticing world never seen before in the MMO genre. At times it can look more like a Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 experience, although these consoles don't have a release date - not being suited to the massively multiplayer online games.

Aion is this year's big Massivley Multiplayer Online Role Play Game . Originally released a year ago in Asia, it's now getting a Western release and has been anticipated by a lot of MMO players. It seems to me like a very solid, fun but fairly un-original game.

Wings are the biggest selling point in Aion. In every screenshot or wallpaper you see advertising the game, the character have wings. It's pretty much the only thing that they do differently from other mainstream MMOs like World of Warcarft. character with wings mean flying combat. This adds more tactical gameplay, as you now have to look at the battlefield in 3D.
