Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands is a Platforming game available on the 360. It can be played in Thirdperson Singleplayer modes.

Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands is a Platforming game. Platform games task you with getting from point A to point B. The world you journey through is usually based on different levels, and populated with enemies, switches and lifts to be negotiated. As you work through each level you pick up various collectables that accrue score, special abilities and access to hidden areas.

Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands can be played in a Thirdperson mode. Third Person games view the world from over the right shoulder of the character being controlled. This enables you to see the character you are controlling as well as their surrounds. Although not as immersive as first person, third person games enable more complex moves and interactions with the environment.

Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands can be played in a Singleplayer mode. Single Player Campaign games focus on one player's experience. Rather than collaborate with other players either locally or online, players progress alone. The campaign style of gameplay offers a connected series of challenges to play through. These chapters work together to tell a story through which players progress. Single player games are able to focus on one experience of a scenario, so that it is usually a richer, more visceral game.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands 360 is a direct sequel to the much-loved The Sands of Time. While The Forgotten Sands is an enjoyable, solid callback to the earlier game, it never quite distinguishes itself enough to emerge from its predecessor's shadow.

The Forgotten Sands doesn't just bridge the narrative gap between two existing Prince of Persia games - the much-loved but low-selling The Sands of Time and its critically reviled but better-selling sequel The Warrior Within - it also fills a dual role as both an addition to the game series and a pseudo-tie-in to the recent movie.

Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands, along with the Movie, persuades us to forget about the previous game. This is the real air to the platforming throne. By keeping focused on what it does best, The Forgotten Sands creates a platforming puzzle game that will thrill newcomers, and win over the faithful.

I liked the Nolan North voiced, cell shaded Prince but for now it is swept under the carpet as Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands picks up where Sands of Time left off all those years ago.
