Five second reviews. Written, folded and photographed by hand for your pleasure. My haikvu's bring you bite sized hand sculpted game reviews. They combine the Japanese art of origami with haiku poetry.

Grace's Diary was the winner of Jennifer Ann's Group's 2010 Life. Love. Game Design Challenge. This annual contest invites game designers to help raise awareness of the risks of teen dating violence. Grace's Diary got under my skin by reminding me of my teenage years, and that anyone can get caught up in abusive or controlling situations. That's an uncomfortable real-world truth to put under the scope, but well worth reflecting on.

Soundtrack Gamer review Fri, 21 May 2010

Greg Edmonson's Uncharted 2 soundtrack offers a Lord of the Rings epic emotional feel, while serving its videogame purpose faultlessly. Rousing, intimate, stirring and moody - there is more here than we have any right to expect.

Greg Edmonson came straight to the first Uncharted project from Firefly and, as he shared in his interview, an absence of involvement in Serenity. This is no bad thing as working on a game with Naughty Dog and Sony seems to have been the breath of fresh air he needed.

Soulful Gamer review Mon, 26 Oct 2009

Treating you to a cinematic feast of a game, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is a tremendous experience to watch and play. The stellar production values really made the characters and locations believable whilst always keeping me entertained with a Indiana Jones-style story. The only misgivings I had were technical deficiencies with the combat and a uncomfortable disconnect between Nathan Drake's persona and his in-game bloodthirsty actions.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is a videogame triumph. Nearly every aspect of this game for the Playstation 3 excels in every way conceivable - from the believable characters that give properly acted performances, to the Hollywood-besting scriptwriting and delivery of the story. I never felt it pushed the genre in a new direction or came up with some groundbreaking mechanic that made me stop and think in a particularly deep way, but it wraps itself up with such well-developed aplomb that I couldn't help but feel connected and care about the characters of Drake, Elena and Chloe.

Frugal Gamer review Wed, 07 Oct 2009

Uncharted returns with the release of its second instalment Uncharted 2 Among Thieves. Although the ensemble cast is changed, Nathan Drake is back to solve the mystery of Marco Polo's last voyage. Uncharted 2 Among Thieves updates the delights of the first game and brings them to the now expanded audience on the PlayStation 3. Again mixing intense gunplay, platforming and cinematic dialogue, Uncharted 2 now stretches the PS3 by adding new stealth movement and parkour style climbing. This is topped off with the brand new co-operative and competitive multiplayer modes. Uncharted 2 Among Thieves set the standard once more for PlayStation 3 titles.

Anyone who played Uncharted Drakes Fortune will know how well executed and convincing an experience the developer Naughty Dog created. Coming back to the series with a much better understanding of the PlayStation 3 architecture, not to mention more time and investment from the previous game's success, they have really been able to pull out all the stops.
