Leaving mass media and objective journalism behind, here you find a rag tag bunch of people telling their video game stories.
Like you, our writers come from all walks of life. Parents, young adults, teenagers, mid-lifers and retirees all with busy lives; but also like you, fitting in some games along the way. Before too long you should be able to find someone enough like you to read and understand.

I was in the woods, walking daisy dog. She went nuts on a particular patch of dirt, sniffing like there was something down there she really wanted, she was going for it, jumping on it, digging the earth away with such urgency and perseverance.
Tokyo Beat Down is a big pulsating pun, but happily one with a big heart. Somehow this little game gave me the warm fuzzies, despite derivative brawling game play straight out of the 80's.
Here is my musical review of Flower on the PS3, I've called it 'This Poem'.
Demon's Souls PS3 hits you like steam train before crushing you in its wake - daring you to try again. And as slave to the thrill of its experience you will indeed plough in hours here. Without save points, steady progression, a pause button or anything one might reasonably expect, Demon's Souls creates one of the strongest connections to a videogame role I've experiences for many years.
Halo Reach offers us a chance to 'remember' Noble Team and create a real world monument. Over the next three weeks, visitors can contribute a point of light to form the statue.
Demon's Souls contains captivating and atmospheric microcosms. I willingly became absorbed in the harsh fantasy setting - needing to surrender and accept the game's own philosophy, rather than clinging to old expectations, fascinated me. It was a harsh but honest experience, something I'd been unknowingly craving.
TrackMania Wii offers not only a much needed serious racing game on the platform, but also the ability to create your own dream circuits.
Gaming and biking put me in a similar mental state - adrenaline filled, distracted and buzzing. My brain seems to go into overdrive and come up with all sorts of ideas. My last gaming session resulted in me signing up for a charity bike ride.
In today's Scripted Gamer Fred and Bob discuss heroes, villains and really bad jokes.
Crackdown 2 360 takes Agents back to a ruined Pacific City, but while super-powered crime fighting is as irresponsibly fun as ever, this sequel fails to advance either the series or its story.
The strategy in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Tag Force 4 is deep and interesting, but ultimately it was too much work to master. I'll happily leave this one to existing fans of the series.
GoldenEye Wii may not be a replica of the classic N64 game, but it has enough of the family likeness to be an exciting prospect for local multiplayer fans. Four player split screen, online multiplayer and perks sound happily familiar.
Killer 7 is strange, unexpected and unique. Presentation may be marred by pretentious storytelling and simple mechanics - but it still sent my mind reeling with its thought-provoking narrative and highly charged ending.
Fossil Fighters DS triangulates the perfect combination of Dinosaurs, Fossil Hunting and card collecting. Our kids had no chance against such a rich vein of play. If you're not in the US, it's well worth importing, compared to the other DS Dinosaur games.
It's been a quiet week in Oakwood, mainly because I've had a bad cold so have been heading to bed early every day rather than staying up on WiFi! This is where I would say the DS game wins over the big console - if it had been AC:WW I would still have played in bed! My husband says that he prefers AC:CF for this reason though, as I have to leave it downstairs!
Ghost Recon's two player local co-opertive play is a rarity on the Wii. This and the third person and full screen gameplay promise something that will appeal to both hardcore and casual players.
Do games offer a valuable resource to engage with dark taboo topics? I suggest that video games can provide a safe play-space in which we can explore our responses to potentially frightful and scary topics - abandonment, loss, death, abuse and war.
Kane and Lynch 2 PS3 dresses you up as two desperately unlikable and bloody characters. Whilst interesting to watch, with impressive graphical filters, a poor story and repetitive game play diminish any sense of reward.
Here is my musical review of Resident Evil 5 on the 360, I've called it 'Don't Shoot Them'.
