These Family Gamer columns started a conversation about video games with families all over the world. Now, along with our guides and reviews below, they form the third element of our identity.

Family Gamer 2009

Another year on and the world of gaming continues to excite and amaze us. With our newly launched site, this year I'll be fleshing out what we're about and what we're here for.

Family Gamer 2008

After stretching my legs with my first 12 articles, I have had some time to reflect and improve things. This time round the articles are to be published every Friday and will be complemented by a mini-blog on twitter. We cover all sorts of gaming issues from ratings to pre order games. I also want to meet and get contributions from readers this time, so I have given in and setup a Facebook page so I can meet you all.

Wanting to slow down and do something more enjoyable is all very well, but I soon realised this was going to be difficult. Difficult saying no thanks I won't take that free game, I'll write something for free instead. Difficult actually figuring out what it was I had to say, and difficult to do that on anything like a regular basis.

These 12 articles are my first faltering steps towards resolving some of these difficulties. As it turns out I failed to some extent on every level. But you have to start somewhere I guess.

Ways to read Game People

Our video game coverage is driven by our columnists. We have tracked down people we think have engaging or unusual perspectives on video games. We then present each of then in their own minisite. You can browse each of these via the Column menu on each page or visit the Columns page.

You can stay on top of new reviews via our Graphical or Blog style homepage. You can also subscribe via RSS, Email, Twitter or Facebook.

If you aren't sure which of our columnists you like, you can dip into our stream of Reviews, Articles, Blogs and News. Or maybe try your luck with reviews for a particular Console, Genre or Play style.

Columns

Each column is an easy way to follow our writers. They focus on a particular perspective and offer hand crafted anecdotal reivews.

The best place to start depends on how you play games and what sort of person you are:
