Invizimals on PSP

Invizimals Screen Shots

Invizimals is a Fighting game available on the PSP. It can be played in Augmented Competitive modes.

Invizimals is a Fighting game. Fighting games revolve around the interaction of two or more characters in some form of physical combat. Players learn to control characters through either memorisation of button combinations to access more advance moves, or by their reactions and accurate timing.

Invizimals can be played in a Augmented mode. Augmented Reality games overlay the play space on a real time view of the world. A camera usually feeds in the view and the player is tasked with playing through the environment.

Invizimals can be played in a Competitive mode. Competitive Multiplayer games provide experiences where players compete against each other and the computer. Obviously lending itself to sports and team games, these competitive engagements have also dominated the shooting and fighting genres because of the direct combat and expertise involved in each. Although these games were originally played in a split screen style, more recently they are played online via services such as PlayStation Network, Xbox Live and the Nintendo Wireless Connection.

Invizimals is a spiritual sequel to Eye of Judgment, except here on the PSP you don't have to collect cards - all you need is one Capture card. Add to this the got to collect them all Pokemon gameplay and you have a PlayStation Portable game with grand ambitions. Unfortunately, the PSP's hand held technology isn't quite up to that of EyePet's static PlayStation Eye and things get a little haphazard.

In Invizimals you discover and catch creatures then level them through combat. Sounds like Pokemon except here you're not seeking the creatures out in some top-down fantasy land, but in real life top-down dirty bedroom, using the PSP camera to coax invisible monsters out of hiding.
