LocoRoco 2 is a Platforming game. Platform games task you with getting from point A to point B. The world you journey through is usually based on different levels, and populated with enemies, switches and lifts to be negotiated. As you work through each level you pick up various collectables that accrue score, special abilities and access to hidden areas.

Dressup Gamer review Tue, 06 Jul 2010

LocoRoco 2's perfectly flowery world is perfectly executed, but not for me. That, as I've come to realise is more interested in those games where I can dress-up, role-play and lose myself in another character's shoes.

I was worried I don't get LocoRoco. It's lauded by many for being a big bundle of fun and not really enjoying the sense of isolation that comes from disagreeing, I decided to give Sony's sequel LocoRoco 2 another shot.

Returning Gamer review Mon, 19 Oct 2009

Loco Roco 2 is a wonderfully beautiful gane with simple tilt controls that complement its bright cartoon visuals, a funky pop soundtrack and lovable characters. This game oozes charm.

Loco Roco 2 is almost a puzzle game and almost a platformer, it reminds me of games like Bubble Bobble or Rainbow Island. It's simple - from the gameplay to the story. Not that there is much of a story, from what I could tell, an enemy called Bonmucho created an evil song that sucks the life from living things and he uses this to attempt a takeover of the Loco Roco planet. It's a bit like watching those old Saturday morning cartoons as a kid, Captain Caveman or Hong Kong Fuey.

Tech Gamer review Sun, 24 May 2009

The amount of decent PSP games in recent years has certainly been disappointing. So even those that didn't fall in love with the original will be happy to see another confident outing of LocoRoco. LocoRoco 2 gives more of the same great gameplay, with new baddies, and a smattering of mini games to improve upon the original formula. It never hits the hardcore or complex level I would have liked, but there's no denying the insatiable charm of this unique platformer.

If the first LocoRoco passed you by then let me bring you up to speed. The game puts you in control of small, singing, dough-like creatures who exist to defend their planet from the sticky paws of the evil Moja. Well, in actual fact you don't control the LocoRocos themselves at all - instead you tilt the environment and use gravity to get them where they need to go.

Here is another confident outing of Sony Japan Studio's LocoRoco. After our novel here's a more in depth look at the game. We discover the same great game play join new baddies and a smattering of mini games to make this an excellent follow up to the original.

If you have somehow missed the hippy love-in that was the first LocoRoco, let me bring you up to speed.
