Tangled DS does its story really well, rather than trying to add too much extra stuff. It was a little short, but I really enjoyed playing it and it felt like a real adventure.

Tangled DS is based on the new Disney film about Rapunzel. I'd played Tangled (Wii) as well Tangled (Mobigo) and Tangled (VReader) so I knew the story pretty well already. I thought the DS game might just be minigames rather than a proper game, but it is actually quite like the Wii one.

Tangled VReader is an interactive Disney version of the hairy fairytales. It's a bit short but all the main bits are there and you can touch the words and pictures to see what they mean.

Tangled (VReader) is based on the new Disney film about Rapunzel. It looks the same as the film and makes the story feel more like a movie than a book. The princess seems much more cross in this game than she does in the bedtime story version I remember.

Tangled Wii is another well told accessible platform game from Disney for two players of any age. They have got into a habit of not adhering to the usual movie cash-in rules, and long may it continue.

The kids used to groan if I came home with a movie tie-in game. They expect, quite rightly, these to be the product of a marketing machine rather than any desire to create something interesting, engaging or playful. Well, they would put it more directly than that, "This is rubbish Dad", but I know what they mean.

Tangled MobiGo misses out on the story but has very simple minigames so even very young players can play along.
