Time Crisis: Razing Storm on PS3

Time Crisis: Razing Storm Screen Shots

Time Crisis: Razing Storm is a Shooting game available on the PS3. It can be played in Singleplayer Sharedscreen modes.

Time Crisis: Razing Storm is a Shooting game. Shooting games present a world in which the character must shoot their way out of dangerous situations. They provide the player with an array of weapons tailored to specific tasks. This unavoidably involves a combination of fisticuffs and gun based fighting that dictates the violent nature of these experiences. Beneath this harsh exterior though is often an intricate tactile game - and this is usually what drives the player.

Time Crisis: Razing Storm can be played in a Singleplayer mode. Single Player Campaign games focus on one player's experience. Rather than collaborate with other players either locally or online, players progress alone. The campaign style of gameplay offers a connected series of challenges to play through. These chapters work together to tell a story through which players progress. Single player games are able to focus on one experience of a scenario, so that it is usually a richer, more visceral game.

Time Crisis: Razing Storm can be played in a Sharedscreen mode. Shared Screen Multiplayer games create a multiplayer experience where players all share the same screen space. Rather than splitting the screen into portions for each player the game scales to fit each player in view even when they are a long way apart. Football and fighting games often take this approach as the shared view doesn't impede the players ability to take part in the action.

Time Crisis was an arcade revelation when it added duck and cover mechanics the light gun mayhem. Time Crisis: Razing Storm is the first title to stretch the response time of the new Move controller.

Multiplayer Gamer review Sat, 30 Oct 2010

Time Crisis: Razing Storm throws everything into this release; three full games, on-rails gun play, first person shooting and comprehensive online multiplayer modes. But it's still the knife edge competitive nature of Time Crisis 4 that shines the brightest.

Time Crisis is an on-rails light gun game where the player is left to focus on the shooting while the game handles movement. I've been a fan of the series from the moment I stepped on the arcade pedal and popped out from cover to (if you'll excuse the colloquialism) cap a bad guy. It was ahead of its time. Not only offering a new light gun experience but foreshadowing a cover system that would come to fruition in first person shooters many years later.
