Today Rebecca is:

Welcome to behind the scenes at the making of Rebecca Mayes Muses Batman Movie. I spent a whole day making costumes. Cutting up cardboard and bin liners (yes it is a garbage-bag batman cowl and cape), designing top hats, and getting covered in purple paint.

I had a very deep and serious conversation with my neighbour in the street whilst dressed as the Riddler. She had seen me walking down the road filming myself and after trying, and failing, to explain to her what I was doing we conversed instead on the subject of black holes.

My housemate freaked out when she came back for lunch to find Heath Ledger at the cooker stirring burnt scrambled eggs. She couldn't look at me and we ate lunch with her holding a book over her eyes.

I ate that whole birthday cake to myself. When you're impersonating four different people it doesn't seem wrong. They all have healthy appetites. Batman almost set himself alight before blowing out his candles. Being inside a dry wetsuit on fire has got to be the worst way to go. And I almost cut my eye out wearing the Penguin's monocle. I made it out of a used tealight candle; cut the bottom out and left the edges. They're pretty sharp.

All in all it's a dangerous business being a Batman baddie, and yet, strangely cheery. I felt warm for the rest of the week. Hope you did too.

Listen.

Batman's Tea Party - Lyrics

Congratulations Batman
You're the game of the year
And they all sing your praises Batman
You're the man of the hour
Even Yahtzee couldn't find
enough to spank your bat-behind

But do you want to know, what it is that I like about you?
If you care to know what it is that I like about you, it's this
I didn't have to kill anyone
No I didn't have to kill anyone
No blood on your hands this time my girl

So a word of praise for your gadgets
and of course the outfit
I guess the story's not too desperate
And for your enemies I'm affectionate

But do you want to know, what it is that I like about you?
If you care to know what it is that I like about you, it's this
I didn't have to kill anyone
No I didn't have to kill anyone
No blood on your hands this time my girl

Cause how could we not, love your good heart

With so many different perspectives it can be hard to know where to start - a little like walking into a crowded pub. Sorry about that.

But so far we've not found a way to streamline our review output - there's basically too much of it. So, rather than dilute things for newcomers we have decided to live with the hubbub while helping new readers find the columnists they will enjoy.

What sort of gamer are you?

Our columnists each focus on a particular perspective and fall into one of the following types of gamers:
