I love a good story. Games tell many different stories: the stories told through cut scenes and dialogue, but also the stories that emerge through gameplay, the stories players make for themselves.

Crackdown 2 360 takes Agents back to a ruined Pacific City, but while super-powered crime fighting is as irresponsibly fun as ever, this sequel fails to advance either the series or its story.
Dead Rising 360 remains a unique and surprisingly playful take on the zombie genre, one which encouraged players to approach its story from several different directions. It's a game that defies the idea of a single successful 'play through'.
Legend of Kay DS has a strong central premise in 'The Way', a philosophy of non-violence that means combat is a no-no, but while avoiding violence the game fails to find anything entertaining to replace it with and instead resorts to endless, tedious cut scenes.
How To Train Your Dragon 360 does what it says on the tin: you train dragons. Unfortunately, you don't get to do much else, which leads to a lot of back-tracking, resource gathering and basic combat.
Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled DS is a staggeringly dull and cliched fantasy RPG not even remotely enlivened by oddly flippant dialogue and characterisation.
Wizards of Waverly Place DS is a child-friendly hidden object graphic adventure. It's a breezy game that suffers from a lack of drama.
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands 360 is a direct sequel to the much-loved The Sands of Time. While The Forgotten Sands is an enjoyable, solid callback to the earlier game, it never quite distinguishes itself enough to emerge from its predecessor's shadow.
Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing 360 is a substantial downloadable installment that reintroduces the characters from the first game. It's a must for dedicated Left 4 Dead fans, even if they won't necessarily be happy about what's happened to one of these old favourites.
Alan Wake 360 is a linear but beautifully executed horror thriller with a real sense of place and tremendous atmosphere. The plot may be hokey, but Alan's headlong flight through the dark is an unforgettable gaming experience.
Night at the Museum 2 Wii is an inoffensive fantasy action romp that is suitably cinematic in places, but lacks the flavour or humour to really bring it to life.
