I write about my favourite games from a younger person's perspective. It's often surprising how different this ends up to other more grown up reviews.
I hope you enjoy my jaunt through the highs and lows of my younger gaming glory. Read more about me.
Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Council 4 DS is frustrating. Shallow gameplay, stifled platforming and unresponsive controls simply scream "cheap tie-in".
Naughty Bear has been a closely guarded secret. The buzz has been increasing for months, the hype has been hyperbolic and my anticipation fever-pitch. And on both Xbox 360 and PS3 Naughty Bear looks right up my mischievous street - like a turbo charged Dennis the Menace.
Green Day: Rock Band adds one of rock's greatest modern bands to the musical gaming formula. With 47 tracks from the group's history including the best-selling Dookie album, this is a must for fans like me and my friends - we like our rhythm games frenetic and energetic. You'd need to appreciate Green Day to really love it, but still this is Rock Band at its greatest.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 manages to squeeze out another helping of joyous game play from Mario land. Building on what went before, and iterating where necessary, this is quite possibly the perfect platform game.
Rooms turns sliding puzzles from a simple distraction on long car journey's to something much more exciting. The combination of puzzle elements and reconstructing the picture from the tiles makes this game as good for me as it is for my younger sister.
UFC 2009 Undisputed is a fighting game that holds its own against the other big names in the genre. It has surprisingly deep and satisfying combat and a really addictive multiplayer experience, all backed up with fantastic visuals. My friends were already fans of Ultimate Fighting Championship and we loved this game.
Blur balances crazy Karting fun with real driving. It avoids being random, or boring and delivers a progressive customisable experience that has learnt as much from Modern Warfare and Halo as it has from Mario Kart.
Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands, along with the Movie, persuades us to forget about the previous game. This is the real air to the platforming throne. By keeping focused on what it does best, The Forgotten Sands creates a platforming puzzle game that will thrill newcomers, and win over the faithful.
Aqua Panic maybe a by the numbers puzzle game, but with genuine charm and wide-ranging well-balanced levels there is more value here that I expected. I even got some of my hard-core shooter fan friends hooked on it.
Decay: Part One tackles grown up themes in sometime disturbing ways. Against the teen stereotype though I really enjoyed being treated like a grownup by a game. The experience was compelling, enjoyable even if it was very short.
